The fear of making errors with your money can be very intimidating to novice investors. Education usually comes at a price so you could look at exploratory investing as a tuition bill. That takes the pressure off and allows you to get to know things that you might otherwise be afraid of. The caution light should be out about the size and terms of your investments. You want to learn lessons not buy the college.
I have noticed over the years that the richest and best educated individuals seem to ask a ton of questions. Don’t be afraid to look like a fool because you would look like a bigger one if you did not ask and had to pay for your stupidity.
Sharing information is an area that you will have to address. I think you will find it important but manageable if you first find your advisory team. Lawyers, accountants and experienced business persons can pretty much tell who can be relied on and who can’t.
Industrial networking groups can be tremendous assets to find trustworthy allies. You will probably want someone who has some similar interests in your work so they understand but not enough where they compete. Selectivity in your personal world of friends is also important. Interactions can be very productive.
Lastly but not least, bring your money fear to God. When you take the time to break out of meager existence and share a little time with the creator, all the elements of the universe can shift and impossible things can become commonplace. Know that you are not alone in the ugly space called broke and when you are open to it, many changes will occur. Invite the creator in to your life and look forward happily forever.
